The State of California
requires that official statistical crime reporting comply with the Uniform Crime
Reporting (U.C.R.) standards established by the U.S. Department of Justice.
These standards exist to allow consistent reporting of criminal activity among
the varied laws of the 50 states. The statistics on this page, however, are
derived directly from raw Computer Aided Dispatch/Records Management System
(CAD/RMS) data and may not fully comply with U.C.R. guidelines. Despite the
potential for discrepancies between U.C.R. statistics and raw CAD/RMS data, the
raw data is used here because it generally provides a more detailed view of
crime in the county. |
