This course fulfills the current  requirements established by POST (in 2004) for field training officers. Topics covered will be the basics and impact of field training, the administration of the FTO program, the functions of the FTO and special training issues such as officer safety, civil liabilities and due process, counseling techniques, and report writing training techniques. Methods of adult learning in each topic area will be emphasized.
