To provide newly appointed and experienced civilian supervisors with
formal training in the techniques, concepts and practical application of
basic supervisory skills. Taught by lectures, group presentations, role
playing scenarios and panel discussions. Topics: role
identification, leadership styles, assertive leadership, employee
performance appraisal, counseling techniques, the disciplinary process,
motivation of employees, organizational cultures, interpersonal skills,
training skills, stress recognition and referral sources and transition
between being a subordinate and first-line supervisor.
