Crime Analysis

It is the mission of crime analysis to collect and analyze information to identify suspects, crime patterns and trends. Approximately 80% of crime is committed by less than 15% of the overall population. Identifying crime patterns through computer analysis assists patrol personnel, detectives and investigators in locating perpetrators and deploying deputies in proactive prevention efforts. The Crime Analysis unit also provides crime statistics for the unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County that are patrolled by Sheriff's Deputies.
