Captain D.A.V.E.
On May 12, 2000, D.A.R.E., essay winner Tiffany Skinner
from Oakley Elementary, officially named the Sheriff's new talking police
car Captain D.A.V.E., which stands for Drugs
And
Violence Erased. The Contra Costa County
Sheriff’s Office is one of the few law enforcement agencies in the
nation using the Plymouth Prowler as a Talking Police Car/D.A.R.E.
vehicle. Captain D.A.V.E is aimed at children and adults alike and will be
used in schools, fairs and events to carry the crime prevention message.
Our goal is to give youths the opportunity for growth and positive
development. In time, we hope the name and image of Captain D.A.V.E. will
be easily recognized in the community. Captain D.A.V.E. projects a
positive image of the successful law enforcement-community partnership.
Most importantly, it’s an investment in our future - our children.
Congratulations
Captain D.A.V.E.
