Contra Costa County's 750 square miles is located in the
San Francisco Bay Area. The County is comprised of varied suburban, industrial,
agricultural and port areas. Over 933,000 people reside in the County.
Due to the large geographic area, as well as the very
diverse social, cultural and economic climates found within Contra Costa
County, the Sheriff's Office has broken the county in to four major areas
of coverage for the Sheriff's Patrol. Each area has its own special needs,
concerns and quality of life issues. The area station houses and their
commanders work diligently to meet the unique needs of each area.
