Instructions to Sheriff

An important document the Sheriff receives in any civil enforcement action or service request is the Letter of Instructions from the person requesting the action. Without proper instructions signed and dated by your attorney or you, if you do not have an attorney, the Sheriff cannot proceed with your request. The Letter of Instructions tells the Sheriff what service to provide or what enforcement action to perform. Sheriff’s instruction forms accompany most information guides for each type of process or enforcement action.
