The Sheriff has long believed in building a strong relationship between the community and the Sheriff's Office.  Our Motto "Community Policing Since 1850", reflects the desire on behalf of the organization to open our doors to those who want to help.  Currently, more than 700 citizens volunteer their time in the various programs supervised by the Volunteer Services Unit.  Most importantly, we want you to join us as well.

The Volunteer Services Unit coordinates the activities of the following Sheriff's Volunteer Groups:

The Volunteer Services Unit coordinates volunteer activities within the Sheriff's Office and the Cities that the Sheriff's Office provides police services to (Danville, Lafayette, Oakley, Orinda and San Ramon).

The Volunteer Services Unit is continually accepting applications for all of our volunteer programs.
