The Office
of the Sheriff Warrant Service Unit goal is to reduce outstanding warrants
in Contra Costa County in an effort to make a safer community. The warrant
service unit consists of one Sheriff’s Specialists and one Sheriff’s
Deputy and is connected with the Civil Unit for support in the form of
supervision, management and resources. The unit prioritizes and researches
outstanding warrants, determines what agency holds the warrant and then
coordinates warrant sweeps with outside law enforcement agencies as well
as with personnel from the Office of the Sheriff.
The unit
provides training to members of the Office of the Sheriff and outside
agencies to improve Due Diligence Records within Contra Costa County. This
training is provided free of charge.
The
Warrant Service Unit is responsible for developing policy, procedure and
programs that facilitate the service of outstanding warrants and to
improve due diligence records.
